Puppy Training

Dark Star Puppy Training can either be carried out on a 1-to-1 basis in your home, your local area or in one of our specific puppy/young dog group classes. Training is available for puppies from 4 months old and will include :-

Basic puppy positions
Puppy recall
Stays
Mat training
Boundary Games
Collar grab
Hand touch
Proprioception

Training Method

We use a method called shaping to teach skills. Shaping allows us to teach our dogs simple or complex behaviours, it builds confidence in your dog and is great mental stimulation. Shaping helps develop effective criteria setting and builds observation, timing and reinforcement skills in the handler. All these are great skills to have when moving on to agility training.

Weekly group young dog / puppy classes take place on a Monday and Tuesday evening. Please get in touch to register your interest in either the 1-to-1’s or group classes

Dark Star Puppy Training is geared towards everyday skills that will stand your dog in good stead for everyday life as well as for when they move on to agility training. These lessons will not cover any behavioural issues training.
